Pick up any ‘Woman and the Home’ type of magazine leading up to the Festive Season and there are bound to be tips and reminders on how to get organised for Christmas including steps to a clean and tidy home. While all these cleaning tips are great it can also be disheartening trying to achieve them in addition to all the other preparation that goes into this time of year. If you live alone it is easier to get and maintain that pristine look for longer. But, for many of us trying to keep the house clean and tidying often becomes an on going battle. But, there is a way to 'lighten the load'!

Today, there are many ways to approach any household chore. Cleaning windows is just one example.  The options commonly used involve a solution of warm water plus a detergent of choice, a sponge or squeegee  and a dry cloth. Other options include adding a mixture of vinegar, alcohol (isopropyl) and dish washing liquid mixed together into a spray bottle or just vinegar added to hot water. The use if a squeegee versus a sponge or cloth does mean that window washing can be achieved in a shorter time. There is an even quicker, smear-free option using a portable steam cleaner.
